G-VI Bronze Paint Code?

Does anyone here have the paint code for the Bronze metallic/Dyna Brown color on the cast parts of the G-VI? I am limited to NAPA paints locally, so a NAPA code would be most helpful.

Thanks,

Dean

I THINK MOST GUYS AGREE THAT THE SUPPLIER FROM MICHIGAN HAS HIT M.M. COLORS RIGHT ON. SORRY I DONT HAVE THE BUSSINESS NAME OR PH. NO. SEARCH THE SITES AND IM SURE YOU CAN FIND THEM. ALSO ON THIS SITE "MUSHY" HAS HAD SOME EXPERIENCE WITH BRONZE METALLIC. GOOD LUCK ON THAT GVI THAT I SAW PHOTOS OF!!!!!!!!

Thanks Dea,

I have used their paint in the past on the UT I am restoring. Now with the cost of freight going up the total cost of their paint is real high for me as I am in the west. I am trying to buy supplies close to me if I can. If I can't get a NAPA code I may have to bite the bullet and go with them.

I see from searching the paint committee report that the correct powertrain color for the G-VI is Bronze Metallic, not Dyna Brown.

Thanks again,

Dean

SKYCARP - GVI'S WERE PAINTED BOTH IN DYNA BROWN AND IN BRONZE METALLIC . I THINK THE YEAR OF BUILD MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH WHAT THEY PAINTED WITH. ALSO I HAVE HEARD FROM RETIRED M.M. SERVICE REPS. THAT TOWARDS THE END OF THE DAY ANY COMBINATION OF COLORS COULD HAVE AND WAS USED JUST TO USE UP WHAT WAS MIXED ??????? SOUNDS CRAZY DOESN'T IT ? ALSO IF MY OPINION IS CORRECT, IF YOUR TRACTOR HAD A RED STRIPE ON THE HOOD AND RED LETTERING, IT WAS FACTORY PAINTED WITH BRONZE METALLIC. IF IT HAD BLACK STRIPE ON THE HOOD AND BLACK LETTERING IT WAS PAINTED DYNA BROWN AT THE FACTORY. IF THE PHOTOS I SAW OF YOUR TRACTOR ARE OF ORIGINAL PAINT,IT IS CORRECT IN BRONZE METALLIC AND RED STRIPE AND LETTERING. I HAVE ONE VERY VERY SIMILAR !! MINE IS A 1961. GOOD LUCK ! WHEN ALL THE WORK AND TIME INVESTED IN A RESTORATION TURNS OUT GREAT AND YOU RECIEVE MANY COMPLIMENTS, IT WAS WORTH IT!

Thanks Dean.

If I am correct on the year, 057 last three numbers of the SN, then mine should be 1959.

If I understand what you are saying, when I am finished with the restoration, I should have a red stripe, and red lettering on the hood, and the chassis should be Bronze Metallic, correct?

Right now it has black lettering, but no hood strip. I can see it has been repainted sometime in the past. Farmerized for sure.

The supplier in Mich. is Midwest Paint. I just painted a RTI with their PG2 -LIC40 Polyurathane enamel. Turned out great! It was cheaper than buying through nnalert. I spilled some gas on it today and it didn't phase it at all! My cousin used some Valspar enamel from Mills Fleet, the paint on the tank peeled or rinkled just from the gas fumes coming out past the cap gasket on a hot day.
