UT Temperature Gauge

I am restoring a 1945 UT (KEF engine) that was left outside to be tampered with. As a result I do not know where the temperature gauge was suppose to connect to the cooling system.
Is it the pipe fitting on the water pump housing the arrow is pointing to here?

I have a reproduction of an original MM temperature gauge that I got from from Tisco. It has a 40 inch tube with the thermo sensor that inserts into the cooling system. The end of the tube only reaches from the dash to just in front of the rear of the engine. I do not see any location at the rear of the engine to connect it into.

Thanks for any help with this question.

By Golly Mark, you are right. I have a photo of that very location. Thanks for reminding me. Age has taken away my memory (and other things).

I have a 40 and a 46 uts both with the kef engine and the gauge thermowell goes in the water manifold on top of the head on route to the rad

You need a 60" capilary line, there are a lot of 40" capilary line gauges for sale (ebay, etc...) that will not work. Good luck!
