difference in pto shifter covers

Hi, what is the difference in the two pto covers? mine is broken and i need a new or a good used one. I think I have the ipto but not sure.

mine has two holes for o-ring boss fittings with a small pipe that just come out and returns to the cover, a spring loaded ball to hold the pto shifter in place, a small pin of about 7/16 of an inch a test port (I think) and the hole for the pto shifter shaft.

I will need to split the tractor to see what is in there i didn't even found the filter for the multipower yet
 
The holes in the cover you have are for hydraulic supply lines to equip your tractor with an auxiliary front pump. The other cover doesn't have the holes.
 
Independent pto is hydraulic and will engage whether or not the clutch is pushed in, or if it's in gear. It is completely independent of the clutch.

For Live PTO, you have to puch in the clutch to engage it. If not, all you'll go is grind gears.

I would be interested in a picture of the cover you have, as I modified the cover on our 165 to be able to use the rear end as the sump for an engine driven hydraulic pump for the loader, but I have been thinking about modifying it a little more because I would like to put in a larger suction line.

I would like to see where they put the lines in & out. I put my return elsewhere on the transmission top cover.

Here are some pics of my modified live pto cover (first time I've added images, hope the quality is ok). Ground pto is no longer available of course.

This is 3/4 inch black pipe inside with ultimately 1 inch hydraulic hose going to the pump at the front. The fittings going through the cover are 12 ORB if I recall, somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 inch??

Works fine so far, but not tested in a Canadian winter yet!

I notice yours doesn't appear to have any ribs inside. When I modified the plate on our 165 it had ribs all around the hole the shifter goes through, so I was fairly limited as to where I could put it.

If I remove it to do some more work, I might just mill the ribs out. Not sure if I'll put the return into the side plate or keep it where I have it now. It's a 3/8 pipe fitting so it does restrict the flow, giving it a nice controlled drop. Not sure if a filter would handle that little bit of pressure or not when dropping a loaded bucket.

Ours has a 1/2" pipe suction line right now, but that just isn't big enough when it gets to be this time of year. Biggest I could fit in between the ribs at the time though.

sorry guys, forgot to mention that the tractor is a 165 diesel. I definately got a tractor equipped with independent pto. does anybody have the part number for the cover?

is it made of aluminium? if it is, I think I'll bring it to the machine shop and see what they can do with it. thanks alot

I need to split the tractor at the bell housing to get to the multipower pump and I need also to split it at the rear of the shifters to clean the sludge in the tranny and replace the gasket


last question, does anyone sell gasket, seals, and o-rings kits for the complete tranny? thank you
 
just checked prices on jackssmall engines.They show 513335m91 for less than $8.Thats for ipto and no aux hydro. That # and 513333m92 (itpo and aux hydro) changes to 519377m92 $328. Think I would check this out if I needed parts! david
