Early TO35 Hydraulics

The early TO35 used a 2 1/2 inch hydraulic lift cylinder. The piston is readily available, but the cylinder is not. Is there any reason that I can't just change to the 3 inch cylinder assembly used on the later models?

I am also looking for Position Control Link Assembly. It is no longer available from Agco, but I found mention of U&T Tractor Hydraulics Industries else where on this forum. Their web site has several parts for MH hydraulic systems that are not available on any other site that I have searched. Does anyone know anything about this company or where to order their parts?

Talk to Danny or Johnny at Mac Tractor parts. They can fix you up with a new 3" cylinder and rings along with a good used position control link assembly. 1-800-882-4742. They did the same for my TO-35.

Thanks for the response, Paul. The 3" cylinder, rings and piston are readily available. From everything I have researched it appeared that PN 184442M1 can be used, but I was looking for the confirmation that you supplied.

The bolts on the 2-1/2" cylinder are 7/16". The YT replacement for the 3" cylinder notes that the cover will have to be re-drilled for 9/16". Did you have to re-drill?

Do you happen to know if the control spring, plunger and seat from the newer models can be substituted for the same from the older models?
