Changing all fluids and filters as necessary as they haven't been done for some time. MF supplied me with a part no. 837595M91 for the Perkins diesel but it is only 2 1/2" diam. vs. 2 7/8" for the original (both are 4 1/2" long with 7/8" center hole). Any suggestions as to which one is correct? Also, what should I look out for while I'm "cleanings body fluids", etc? Are there alternatives to MF OEM fluids and filters ? Note: there is a front end loader in place.

I have a 1980 Scout diesel that takes a canister type oil filter. My parts dealer tells me that all crossovers now have cylindrical gaskets instead of the flat ones that I have always used. Will this work?

The smaller filter is the 'new style' better ?they both work as long as the seal contact areas are the same.
