Another intresting CAV injector pump problem

I ran into another CAV injector problem this time on my brothers 1965 MF150, for some reason now you have to give it about 1/4 throttle every time in order for it to start. Less than 1/4 throttle it won't start, it did this without any kind of warning, it started like it normally did then the next day no start without giving it 1/4 throttle. After you start it, and move the throttle lever back to idle it will idle with no problem, it just won't start with the throttle set at idle even if you shut it off at an idle, and instantly try to restart it.

Don't know anything about your problem but all

I have read or had experience with says to have throttle partially opened to 1/4 or so before starting.

I turned the idle speed up a little bit still no difference. My brother has owned this tractor since 1975, and it never needed 1/4 throttle for to start (nor have I ever heard you needed to that). Going to put in some 2 stroke oil in the fuel to see if maybe that will help. I put some 2 stroke oil in my 135 that I had a problem with the injector pump (shut off when I gave it throttle), and so far so good.

Didn't mean that it could not start at idle, but would start better with a little throttle. I know my green 2004 with only 500 hours starts a lot better with some throttle. At idle it Starts instantly but sputters a little before smoothing out. At 1/4 throttle it purrs instantly.
