is there a alternator out there that will fit my bracket that my generator was on I am converting it to 12 volts or do I have to buy a bracket kit my massey is a1953

I converted a my 44 and my22 in both conversions the original generator
bracket was used. You will need a long bolt, along with pipe and washers
to fill the space between the alternator and the bracket. A different
belt tensioner may be needed.

I do not know on the bracket, mine has a custom one, but the pulley will come off generator and fit right on the alternator.

(reply to post at 12:04:59 09/18/18) [/I tried a alternator took the pulley off of generator put it on alternator then put back on tracktor could not put alternator on the right side of thr mounting ear belt was 5\8 of an inch off I guess you have to buy a bracket kit was hoping there was a alternator that would fit without having to buy bracket kit

I have converted a bunch of these to single wire alternators. I
have always had to make my own brackets and tensioner for
a good clean fit. As stated the pulleys definitely will
interchange but as far as using the original generator
brackets, I haven?t had luck. Luckily I have access to a
welder...
