MF 135 dual action hydraulic cylinder plumbing

I have a MF 135 with a single remote valve which I assume will only work on a single action cylinder. I want to hook up a log splitter with a dual action cylinder and it’s own valve. Can I use my single remote and just plumb in a return line some how? Or do I need a new auxiliary valve? Thanks in advance for your help.

Theoretically yes, but if the splitter is on the three point it will be in the fully raised position before oil will flow to the splitters valve which will not be ideal!

I have diverter valve on my 148 which I use for a splitter.

Also for reference there is a threaded hole on the left hand side of the lift cover which can be used to plumb a return.

Hello,
Are you talking 'single remote' as in one valve or one single acting valve? As as has been said you will need an isolating (divertor valve) in order to shut off the internal hydraulics which operate the 3-point linkage and supply oil to your log splitter valve. Ideally the return line should be larger bore than the supply line in order not to create back-pressure in the return line. The tapping under the seat can be used but a larger pipe can be accommodated by drilling and tapping the oil filler plug next to the gearlever. This will allow a 1/2" return and a 3/8" supply. It may be necessary to re-site your valve in order to make it readily reachable when operating the splitter.
