MF135 Carburetor Gas Problem

Hello,

I purchased a 1969/70 MF135 a couple of months ago. It was running well, but always seemed to be draining the gas slowly out of the fuel tank when parked.

Did a bunch of work with it one day and then forgot to turn off the fuel shut off valve. The fuel tank was drained and the air filter chamber was full of gas.

I figured I had a carburetor float problem. So purchased a new carb and fuel shut off sediment bowl assembly. Changed out the oil and filter, because it was full of gas.

The new sediment bowl still drips slowly even when "shut off". The carb also seems to be still running gas through it.

I am stumped, because there should be nothing else to replace for the fuel system on this tractor. Suggestions very welcome.

Thanks,
Terry

You probably have the made in the almost right country problem as in you got repop parts from China. Most aftermarket stuff in junk. You need the true correct parts made for your tractor. Your old carb can be rebuilt and you need a good name brand sediment bowl assembly.

Thanks for the information.

Where can I find genuine parts? Does anyone make them or is it a matter of rebuilding what I've got?

Carb rebuild kits can be found at places like O'Reilly's auto parts store as can the sediment bowl assembly. I buy a lot of tractor stuff from them. A MF dealer is also a good place to look but that also means going to an AGCO dealer since MF is not owned by AGCO but you pay the price there

New sediment bowl assembly on the way.

I talked with YT customer service and they said sometimes the float gets stuck during shipping. They suggested I pull the carb bowl and adjust the float to seat properly.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes the companies that ship things be it the U.S. postal service or UPS do not tend to be gentle with things they ship and tend to throw boxes around and that does funning things to moving parts. If you still have your old carb etc. I would save them unless there was a core and even then I might and some time down the road rebuilt it

In my shop I have an old non working refrigerator that I keep things like carbs etc. in. Keeps them dry and easy to find
