Hi all
Just joined this forum. Have bought a mh3ok ..im in perth western australia.
Serial number is mfb162d 116203..im having trouble clarifying serial number to age and model..not sure if anyone can help??
Also thought the k stood for..kerosene..mine is petrol but paintwork have 30k label
Hope you can help
Greg

If the TRACTOR serial number tag is missing, the number is also stamped on the top of the transmission case near the PTO/belt pulley shifter. Engine numbers won't be much help far as year goes, the tractor number is needed for that.

Aaah thanks
Will check. Am I wrong in asumming the k is supposed to indicate ..kerosene??
Many thanks
Greg

I think the kerosene parts of the engine have probably been removed and it runs on gasoline now. Good little tractor.

hi there, there is not many parts for the k mine just has a 2 gallon small tank for the kerosene a line that runs to the carb from it, I was told you start it on the kerosene then turn over the pet cock to shut off the kerosene and turn on the gas, my kerosene tank is very rusty inside so I have not tried it yet but I will be soon oh mine is a 1951 mh 30k

Ok.
Thought it was the other way round.. start
on petrol ..switch to kero. Thought I read
somewhere re a damper in the exhaust
manifold
.only just got my so not familiar with it at
all.. doesn't seem to be many here in
Australia

1173 is what I was told but I have not found very much on the k30s but I have only owned the tractor a few months its got the same carb as a mh 30 so ireally do not know whats different with them one thing I read some where it runs on low grade fuel so maybe it ran on kerosene to start then switched to fuel oil or something like that I have no idea

Thanks
Struggling to find much info on these
engines and what mods were made to the
engine to allow for kero or petrol
Bought a parts manual off eBay.. not sure if
anyone can recommend an engine repair for
the continental 162 engine

does it run one thing I was wondering my exhaust manifold was cracked in many places so I replaced it but the one I replaced it with, the exhaust comes out way more forward than mine this might be a part of the kerosene setup

ok I was wrong I talked to an old timer yesterday and got a little more information that makes more sense its a kerosene tractor the small tank is for gas to start it then you switch over to low grade fuel (kerosene) and run it, but he said you would have to switch it back to gas and run it for a little bit to get the gas back into the carb for the next restart :D
