MF165 planetary gear oil

SORRY! I cannot find my manual and am in the middle of changing all the fluids in my 165, do the planetary gears take the same oil as the transmission (hydraulic)??

80-90 gear oil

My owners manual for MF165 specifies M 1129, which is same oil as tranny and hydraulics. It is now sold as Agco Permatran 821XL. Can use a universal oil that meets Permantran spec also.

yes same oil as the transmission, or 80w90 would be fine also, this is what was in mine when i bought it. tranny must absolutely have permatran or equivalent tdh oil for the hydraulics and multipower/ipto clutch if ou have it, so my opinion is your best bet is to put engine oil in the engine and permatran or equivalent for all the rest including power steering

Regular 80-90 gear oil for the plantaries, the planetaries are sealed from the fluid that's used in the rearend/transmission.
