Buying MF 65 questions

I'm going to look at a Massey Ferguson 65 this afternoon. The serial number is SNM 685731. From my research it seems this might be an indirect injected A.203 early 1962. Does that seem correct? In the pictures there is a differential lock pedal, but that isn't noted in the prefix code??? Any thing in particular to look for when I see it? Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

A4.203 has injectors vertical in the head, and a two piece oil pan with a rear wedge section. Later AD4.203 direct injected engine has injectors at an angle in the head, and a one piece oil pan.

Thanks, I'll know for sure then when I go see it. How much better is the AD4.203 than the A4.203? How much less is a MF 65 with the indirect injection worth compared to it's later counterpart?

So I went and looked at it and... The hour meter does work it says 4563. It leaks fuel from injectors/lines, engine oil from somewhere, hydraulic oil from the PTO... but what concerns me most is the alarming cloud of blue/grey smoke upon start up, which let up significantly but never went away altogether. Guy says power steering works and doesn't leak, but he just never filled it up??? Not sure if the diff lock works. Right brake pedal hardly does anything. Sheet metal is rough, but not terrible, missing a lot of bolts to hold it on though. Three point leaks down about ten seconds after killing engine (with a nine hundred pound flail mower on it.) I talked the guy down to $1750. What do you all think? Oh and it is indirect injection.

Condition of tires? Sounds like it will need some pretty extensive work to get it in good working order. I would want to put some fluid in the power steering and see if it does work, and sounds like the 3PH lift cylinder needs to be rebuilt or replaced. I personally think $1000 would be a good offer if it has decent tires.

Yeah, that's kind of my feeling too. I was really hoping it would be in a little better shape. I'm pretty hard up for a tractor right now though. Rear tires are 70%. They are loaded. Pretty dry rotted, fronts have good tread, but are also dry rotted. Here is a Facebook marketplace link for it:

I had to replace one of my mf-65 rear wheels that was loaded with calcium, & is expensive so take good look at rear wheels.
