Front end loader not working

I have a Massey 231 with a front end loader with a separate pump for the loader. My loader will not lift, tilt or move at all. The 3 point works fine. Can anyone help me with trouble shooting the problem? Btw I change the hydraulic filter but that did not help.

Is the pump driven off of the crank shaft front pulley with a shaft in a hub bolted to the crank shaft pulley?? If it is, is it turning. If it is turning with no load you then need to check to see if it is turning with a load. Those hubs and splined shafts are known to strip out and cause that problem. BTDT many times over the years on a couple of my tractors and it is always good to replace both the bolt on hub and the shaft or your going to be doing it again very soon

But does it stay turning when you try to make the lift of bucket move?? Most of the time when the drive shaft goes bad it will turn when it if running but stop spinning when you try to use hyds. One almost has to have 2 people or you need to tie the handle so you can then look and make sure it is still spinning. Or your pump might be bad and the only way to know for sure if that is so is to put on a pressure gauge which is only around $20

I will check and see if the pump is turning tomorrow and get back with you Old. I am not really familiar with hydraulics, what do you mean by key?

On the pump end of the drive hub there is a part that sits on the pump shaft that is keyed and some times that key shears but not often. On most that do as your is doing the drive shaft and hub wear out and the splines strip out so it will drive when not needing hyd pressure but slip when you need the pressure. This site sells the hubs and shaft and you want to replace both at the same time or you will be doing it again soon guess how I learned that one LOL
