Want advice..give us feedback

You guys all come on here asking for advice. People give you what they have learned in hours and hours of sweat, toil
and frustration. Then you take their hard earned advice and fix your tractor and never so much as say thank you, or
"you are wrong" or it was the generator or fan blade...no feedback whatever. If you ask...have the courtesy to give
feedback. What worked...what did not?

Hay, I hear you. With the little knowledge I have, I have been able to help now and then. Your correct, I too would like a reply or thank you.

To be fair, often the original poster does reply.

I have attempted to do that in my thread about my 265. Didn't get a lot of response but a big thank you to those who did, ptfarmer in particular. Still when no one had replied to inquiries and I fumbled through myself I did come back and update to try to keep things complete and see it through so it could be a resource for others. Near the end of my 265r thread I was starting to feel like I was a crazy fellow talking to myself? Maybe I am? Lol.

I mentioned numerous times in that thread and again here how thankful I am for the help and this resource of the forum. It's very much appreciated.

I'll second that. It's also nice that if you have a problem that you didn't ask about here but found a way to fix it on your own that you post your fix for the problem.

Others may store away that info in the back of their brain in case they ever run into that same problem.

Yeah, no one likes to watch half a movie.

Sometimes I get really busy, and don't have the time, or when I am on here sometimes I get pulled away. So I help out when I can, granted it would be nice if everyone would post what the problem/fix eventually was. Some may not have the time because they need the tractor running urgently to finish a job, then forget to reply what it was after they finished with the job they needed the tractor for. Some just may not care to reply once their problem is solved, or they just sold the tractor with the problem to someone else.

I do appreciate the ones who post a thank you, and or feedback reply back to me, or Dieseltech, or to whoever had the solution to their problem. I know I still learn something on occasion from those who post a reply to what the fix was.

I don't post on some topics because after reading them, and the replies because someone has suggested everything that I would have suggested. Some of those replies seem like they are almost word for word to what I would suggest, and by someone with a name that I seem to remember. HMMM

I've had my 8N for over ten years but since buying my MF202 almost a year ago and frequenting this forum I've learned that your advice is advice to be listened to. Thank you pt.

There are lots of older fellows with experience on the YT sites. Growing up on the farm with MH and MF equipment, then working for the dealer awhile and seeing what some fellows do to their equipment sticks with you. The forty plus years and counting of diesel injection repair is what I continue to enjoy the most, that is between the antique tractor rides I like to attend too. It's always a plus when a problem is solved, and the owner lets everyone know..

I should have said this in my last post above so I'll add it here. After ten or so years on the N tractor forum, I realize that there is a wealth of knowledge here in these YT forums.

Everyone has something to add. They say free advice is worth what you pay for it but I don't think that pertains to these forums. I appreciate any bit of knowledge from you guys. A lot of it gets copied and save for future reference.

Thanks Guys

Hello,
OLDER!!!!! you say! I'm 62 and a mere youngster with 45 years of involvement with servicing MF and machinery in the UK. It really does make it worthwhile when someone comes back and says "thanks" or "found the problem"....we all learn from that. If it's a purely US tractor or a US version of one that we have in the UK then sometimes we can't help other than make a few suggestions which might set someone else on the right track.
Anyway it's a joy to be in contact with fellow MF'ers.

I just turned 64 May fourth, guess that makes me an old geezer now that I consistently get the geezer discount! Have a US MF 35 Perkins diesel I'm picking up this weekend for a friend after another tractor ride is through, has a high oil use complaint. Told the owner I'd be glad to repair it, IF he's not in a big hurry. I'm planning on traveling a bit more this summer, so some projects might take a bit longer..

Boy oh boy, I'm ONLY 58 this year, but it still feels like I'm 85 some mornings when I get out of bed. Must have had something to do with being a mechanic, and being expected to act as a human crane for the past 40+ years, lol!
Thanks is always nice to hear......from anyone!
