Thinking about getting a MF 165 gas. I'm familiar with the perkins diesel engine. Are the gas engines in these pretty good? Exceptionally thirsty? I have been using an oliver 770 gas so that is my basis of reference. I'll use it for hay. Any tyhoughts? Not sure yet if it is a continental or perkins gas engine..

Early gas 165 used the Continental G176, late tractors switched to the Perkins AG4.212. I'd hold out for a 175 diesel, as they ran smoother than the AD4.203 Perkins than the 165 used. Late 165 Perkins gas do run smooth, but I still prefer diesel. Just not a fan of spark plug engines..
