Could my replacement engine driven steering pump be blowing seals
in my steering hand pump unit under the dash. I have been fighting
this issue for a while now. I had the steering hand pump seals
redone. And it continues to leak. May have to buy a new one but
would like to check pressure on pump. Any advice? Engine driven
pump went out about 2 years ago, and was replaced and I blew the
seals running down the road in the hand pump under the dash last
summer. And had the steering hand pump rebuilt this summer, and
now it?s leaking again. I guess I need to check pump pressure.

Some MF tractors have power steering pump cans that can be turned so fill plug is higher than needed. System is not vented, but if over full that COULD make more can pressure when hot if the air space is less than needed. Remember, air will compress, oil will not. Pump can needs at least one inch air space at the top, two would be better if oil level is enough for steering to work as needed.
