MF135 transmission filter/oil question

I am the proud owner of my great-uncles MF135. It was purchased new in 1967, always stored in the barn. I checked the oil level in the transmission today and it a little bit above the fill line and looks like new. According to the owners manual I need to add MF brand oil. Is that just a 90W gear oil? I have no idea what is in there right now so I am not sure what to top it off with. Any idea how much it will take to bring it up to the full level? I know for the engine the difference between the two lines is 1 quart. What is it for the transmission? The oil is a minimum of 10 years old but it honestly looks like it was changed yesterday. Maybe I should just drain it all and start from scratch?

Second question, I was told that behind this round access panel is a filter. Is there any truth to this? The owners manual does not mention anything about a filter. If there is a filter will this cover simply come right off even with the lever attached to it? Any trick I should be concerned with? Will oil come out if I remove this cover or does the oil sit lower?

Thanks

Yes, you remove the six bolts that holds that cover on to access the hydraulic filter. You should drain about half of the fluid out before removing that cover.

Looks like this with the cover off.

A universal tractor trans/hydraulic fluid, something like this

To do a complete fluid change you will need around 7 gallons.
