Perkins 3.152 head removal

I am a high school ag teacher, and one of my classes is restoring a Massey Ferguson 35 Diesel Deluxe for a local farmer. We are in the process of tearing down the engine, and we are having a tough time removing the head. I believe we have removed all of the necessary bolts, and we have tried to pry on it with quite a bit of force and haven't even gotten it to budge. Does anyone have any insight on anything I might be missing? Any tips or tricks that have worked for you in the past?

Thank you

I used a couple long tapered wedges under the corners and drove them in evenly. They do come off hard because of the corrosion around the studs. It worked for me, maybe someone else has a different idea.

With all Nuts removed from Head Studs, sprayed all Head Studs and Head Stud bores in Head with "Kroil penetrating fluid":

Left Engine for two days:

With an over head hoist attached to the Head, engine was raised about 2" over night:

Head had released approximately 1/2"

Drove in several NYLON FALLERS WEGES between HEAD and BLOCK:

I would agree with the above. Carbon build-up can make head removal very difficult especially around the rear slightly left stud. If yoyy can gain a little movement on the head thin pry bars can be used very cautiously and carefully. Absolute patience is needed. If you can gain that initial movement tap the head back down with a soft hammer and work a spray into the stud holes so that you gain a little more each time. Have packing pieces pieces ready to maximise the lift from the pry bars.
Let us know how you get on.

If the diesel version has enough threads above the retainer nuts then you will be able to remove the studs by jamming 2 nuts on each stud then using the lower nut to back the studs out.
