MF 24S Mower

I think I have a Massey Ferguson 24S Deluxe mower, which seems almost like a toy rather than a real riding lawn mower. Maybe people were just tinier back in the era when this was new, but I can't imagine anyone except a child or petite woman ever riding this thing.

Mine is in OK shape, body-wise. Definitely needs a new seat, but the yellow paint looks OK, and the decals are mostly intact. The front wheels are solid rubber, similar to the wheels on a Radio Flyer kids wagon. The back wheels are pneumatic, but shot. The motor is present, but definitely not operable. Might even be seized.

I'd like to know more about this mower. I've googled and found very little information. I think its model number was 24S, and that this was the "Deluxe" variant because it has a steering wheel instead of a tiller.

As I look at this thing, I'm guessing it's probably collectible and not just junk (my wife might disagree). I could see a MF enthusiast restoring this little guy for the grandkid to ride in a parade, alongside Poppa's big ol' tractor. I'll probably make someone a helluva good deal on it, just to get it out of my yard and into the hands of someone who'll appreciate it. But... maybe this was a bad idea when it came out in the 1960s(?), and only fools kept one around after coming to that conclusion.

So... any input welcome to help me learn more about this little "gem" and whether it has value to anyone in this era.

Thanks!

I have came across one also and would like it for the nostalgic design and for the little one to ride. Any idea of the value?? I see no one responded before

The time has come (past due, in fact) for me to get rid of this little gem. Any help at all to understand its value would be appreciated.

Thanks!
