Washing an old ugly tractor

Today the weather was nice and I decided to wash and degrease my old dirty, grimey, oil coated MF65. First I sprayed the block and all the leaks with degreaser, then I washed scrubbed, brushed, and soaked the rest of the tractor.

Well it is much better , but it is a long way from clean. How about some realistic ways to clean an old tractor...Not for show...just for a bit of self respect for a reliable old work horse.

I usually warm my tractors engines up real good then spray them with degreaser, let it soak awhile then pressure wash

Pressure washer hooked up to a hot water line (not over 140 degrees) is what I use with the soap injector. Warm the tractor up good before starting helps.

Yes but mine is 2500 PSI gas powered. Used to have an electric 1300 PSI and it was ok but the 2500 is better at the heavy stuff.

The 110v pressure washers don't do much, pressure, and warm/hot water. The cheap Dollar General oven cleaner works pretty good on the really oily stuck on crud.

I've found that diesel crud gets cooked on and is a lot harder to clean than a gas model. Mine took several degreasing's and using a 3500 13hp Honda.

I bought some stuff called awesome at Ollies for around a buck. It says it's for cleaning your barbecue. I can see why they call it awesome. Purple power and purple clean work well also. I don't have a pressure washer.

I drive my H into the car wash, 3 miles away, and use the hot car wash. Does a great job, that's the good part. Peels off loose paint, grease, crud, etc. Bad part is also gets water inside air cleaner, every crack and crevice.
