30e broken shuttle shift fork

Just tore down 30e to discover why manual shuttle was not working. Long and short of it is that the shifting fork was broken. What a nightmare on this tractor to remove top cover with steering box casted to it. Removed hood, tank, battery and dash support, steering wheel and fuel filters attached to battery and dash support. Then removing shifting rail stop requires removing top cover or splitting tractor. Engineering at it's finest. Anyway does anyone have a source for the manual shuttle shiffting fork. Over $450 from dealer. Also what can cause it to break.

That happened on a 30B I had. Took it to a good welder and he said it was cast steel and could weld it just fine. He said he used a 6010 rod and it held up for years and was fine when I sold it.

Over zealous shifting puts a lot of strain om the fork. IMO

Found a fork today at Wenger's in Pa. Should have it by tomorrow with expedited shipping. Price was fair and reasonable for salvage part. I will definitely deal with them again.
