Here's a hint for Z134 4 cylinder Contental engine owners

Checking for adequate gas flow on my 8N was simple. Remove the plug at the bottom of the carb and hold a pint jar under it. It should fill that pint jar in 2-3 minutes.

Not so simple on my MF202 because the oil filter canister is right under the carb drain.

In the picture below, what you see is a 4" X 1/8" brass pipe nipple. Luckily the drain plug on the carb on the Z134 engine is at a 45 degree angle. Just pull the plug and screw that brass nipple in just finger tight then push the plastic hole onto the end of it.

You can set the pint jar on the ground and place the other end of the hose in it while you go around and turn on the gas.

That hose is 5/16" I.D. It happens to be 34" long and has that brass fitting in one end because that brass fitting also screws into my air nozzle when I remove the little nozzle on the end of it. It comes in handy for blowing air into tight places, especially for blowing off the top of my 8N's flat head engine before removing the spark plugs especially with the FEL frame right in the way. A lot of crap collects in those valleys that the plugs sit in. That tube is also great for getting at the radiator for blowing built up crap out of it from both sides.

You'd be surprised how much crap accumulates in there cutting down air flow to the radiator.
