I have a 1964 Massey 65 Diesel. I like it so far. Its been a learning experience. Various people here have helped a great deal and are very knowledgeable. I don't know a thing in the world about the multipower version.

I can't help you on price as that seems to be a pretty regional thing. Around here tractors are expensive except for the most ragged out, and there's always someone who thinks their junk is gold and your gold is junk. It is the way of the world.
Pictures would help for those more knowledgeable than me.

To me, you need provenance for an overhaul, maybe not parts tickets but at least a log of what you did relating to how in depth the overhaul went. Mine is a simple log relating what parts were replaced and what I did based on what I found to be wrong. I have one for all my equipment, a simple notebook.

As far as cost of parts, some of the the most mundane things from AGCO or even other suppliers may be ridiculously expensive while others are not so high in comparison. Some parts are no longer available but that's usually something you can make yourself if you're handy. Not always, but mostly.
A carburetor ranges from $250 without core here at YT to over $400 elsewhere. Maybe you could use a carburetor kit, much cheaper. Again, it depends on how handy you are.

Getting parts is a waiting game, just order them up and wait on the Big Brown Truck, and watch your balance. Easy.

Nice tractor, far ahead in some ways of the competition at the time. If it's the Continental gas engine, it's a good engine. Parts aren't terrible for cost or availability.

Carbs are easy to rebuild. Good rear tires and good oil pressure increase the price. Buying a non running tractor and from your boss could possibly get you an expensive raise or if you get her going and brag about how great a deal it was could also come back to bite. Bought a running 65 diesel with bad rears, power steering, and sheet metal for about twice scrap. Good luck with it.

The worth of tractors is like houses- location location location.
He's your boss. I doubt he will screw you or you'd already be unemployed or worked to death.
Get the manuals for sale on the box above, then shop in the YT parts store. There should be no problem ever getting anything that could break on theses things. I got a 65 and a newer MF30, there's not much that can't be fixed in a day for reasonable cost. No much they can't do unless you are in agribiz.
In gas, it is the same class as an AC D17, so it don't get much better for the age.

I have a MF65 gas, mine was ugly and had bad brakes when I bought it. A brake job is very expensive and a big job on that tractor. Multipower is a turn off for many buyers. Buying a carb is a $250ish. Can the buyer test drive it? Overhauls can be good....or bad, who did it and how well was it done? Tires can cost as much as 50% of the tractor value. Power steering is a weak spot on this tractor.

A really good one, running strong, straight metal, ready to work is $3000 plus or minus.....subtract the repairs and the negatives and you'll have an idea. Tires are critical in the equation.

If everything is in good working order they are a great little farm tractor with enough power to get work done and still be agile. Parts are not a problem, but not cheap.
