Changing a fuel filter on a Massey 245 tractor

I want to thank you all for your help in answering my questions. I finally got around to changing my fuel filter today and wanted to share the steps I took in case it may help someone in the future.

1- I first cleaned the outside the old filter and housing with a clean rag
2- I shut off the fuel valve on the left side of the tractor running from the fuel tank (picture #1)
3- I removed the old fuel filter ? Picture #2 shows what the screw on adapter looks like with no filter
Also notice the small o-ring around the screw stem. Be sure to replace that with the new one that comes with the new filter.
4- I filled the new filter with diesel and put oil on the rubber gasket of the new filter and installed it but left it very loose. Just to where the rubber gasket was barley touching the housing.
5- I turned the fuel valve back on to allow fuel to run to the filter.
6- I loosened the bleeder screws (air vent plugs) on the fuel injection pump (picture #3). The fuel injection pump is located on the left side of the tractor.
7- I had my daughter pump the fuel lift pump (picture #4) fully until air free fuel flowed out of the top of the filter and the air vent plugs on the fuel injector pump.
8- As she was still pumping the fuel injection pump I tightened the fuel filter first (to 8 ft lbs), the lower injection pump plug second, and then the upper injection pump plug third
9- I then started the engine and it fired right up.
