Massey 399 Remote Valve

I'm working on my remote valve, that wont stop leaking from the top of the block. Its a two spool valve with detent and float on one side. The local dealer says my valve is too corroded inside to fix and it needs to be replaced. Parts are through the roof, new or used. I was wondering if anyone had replaced the original KONTAK valve with a similar valve from Northern Tool? Can it be done or will those valves not handle the flow / pressure?

If your tractor can combine both hydraulic pumps you get a total gpm 16.8 gpm. I would look at the gpm flow of the spool valves, and get one that will handle atleast 17 gpm so it won't be a restriction which causes heat in the hydrailc system (get a open center valve). If the valve you want can handle 30 gpm its even better. Look up surplus center on the internet, or ebay also you may find one that cost less.
