want to put new piston rings in my MH 20 , do not have a ridge reamer or known anyone who has one , anyone have ways that they have done this ? I'm sure there are ways to do it thought I would ask before trying something and do more harm than good, thanks

Ridge reamers do not cost all that much. Last one I got was around $25 if that much. That said on many tractor engines I have found there was no need to use a ridge reamer because they was little if any ridge. If your not going to replace the sleeve you do need to horn the cylinder or the ring will never break in.

By the way many auto parts store will rent you a ridge reamer and hone. O'Reilly's rents tools. What you do is pay for them then when you bring the tool back you get your $$ back

Good day "DSR"

I was asked the same question by a Neighbour as your concern as in Ridge removal. The neighbour NEVER listened. He purchased new pistons and rings. The ring LANDS and RINGS were a little closer to the Crown of the Piston.

Yes the rings fractured and then he spent $$$$$$$$$$$$$
