diesel nozzels for A3.152 MF 35X 1964 Perkins diesel

Where can I buy diesel injection nozzles for my 1964 MF 35X Perkins 3 cylinder diesel? Are mine different because the A3.152 was changed from the 3.152 because I don't think the 2 parts below are interchangeable. And can the injectors be removed with the gas tank remaining on? I had the injectors out this past summer but I had the tank off.

The ones on my tractor are very hard to find and are from the AGCO parts book:

[b:028566ee88]part number 1852160M1 Atomizer Assembly (Perkins No. 35504) CAV type BDL 110 S6267[/b:028566ee88]

The other one used in older MF 35 tractors is easily available and is:

[b:028566ee88]part number 1851744M1 Atomizer Assembly (Perkins No. 31990) CAV type BDL 110 S6133
[/b:028566ee88]

The tank has to come off, the tank makes its a pain to crack the injector lines to bleed them.

I own a MF FE 35 X that's been in my family since new...1963. All maintenance I have done myself. I know the FUEL PUMP and FUEL INJECTORS are ORIGINAL:

All to often someone has changed out a fuel injector and or a fuel pump, NOT REALISING the MF FE 35 X has different calibrated fuel components than the standard MF FE 35.

My own preference, I never swap fuel injectors that are not engineered to handle the volume and or pressure of the delivery pump.

I recently purchased three NOS fuel injectors for my MF FE 35 X...see pictures:

NOTE the "DB" Ident. on the Injector....this Injector is correct for the fuel pump on my MF FE 35 X. Also note the Indent. info on the Injector....BKB32S5127.....Pressure setting (PSI) NEW 1835...USED 1760....Hole Size (Inches)0.0157

AS I'm away from our summer residence I do not have the INFO / IDENT of the Fuel pump.

I had to remove FUEL TANK ...good time to set VALVES ..Intake.. Exhaust...and checked Torque cylinder head....also replaced Thermostat and to Rad hose:

Tappet setting HOT...0.010.....COLD...0.012
Cylinder Head...55>60 FT.LBS.

Info of two suppliers of fuel injectors as per below:

CAV/Lucas/Delphi spec card shows injection pumps 3232718 and 3232788 are used with the 6133 injector tip. Pumps 3230010 and 3230F030 are used with 6267 injector tip. Pump 3230F030 will replace the other three pumps IF the 6267 tip is used. 3230F030 is the latest pump.

My tabs are also DB. And I have the same nozzles as you BDL 110 S6267. My tractor is identical to yours except its s 1964 . Serial number SNMY 353514 my engine serial number is definitely a different format 19A9797. From checking with the registry on here i can see others have similar engine serial numbers. I am waiting to hear back from Perkins about the serial number format as it is impossible to look up parts on AGCO when they refer to serial numbers. All I can do is make the assumption that my engine is newer than the cut off serial number used on AGCO. I think that is a pretty decent bet.

I did have the head off this past summer and replaced the head gasket and set valves/tappett clearance. I also torqued and retorqued the head bolts after we ran it for a bit using an auxiliary fuel tank we set up temporarily. We put a new thermostat and flushed the coolant. We had the radiator serviced. Its not original. It was replaced at one point and was in good shape burmt we had it serviced anyway. Replaced the cap with a new . So I am confident that's fine. I did check the injectors visually and replaced the copper sealing washers . The nozzles were BDL 110 S6267 and were pretty clean but i still cleaned them up some. The points were easily removed and they slid in without hesitation. So no carbon preventing them. But the reason I asked
about the injectors is that i get black exhaust liquid that leaves specs on my tractor and runs down the manifold elbow. It's not alot but enough to annoy and has me wondering if i needed new injectors.

The fuel pump was replaced with a new before we bought the tractor and I confirmed as per Dieseltech's post that it is the correct pump and the nozzles are the correct ones. I was given the original pump from the seller and its the identical part number. So we are good there.

Now that I know my set up is good and conforms to the original parts my trouble is going to find Nozzles if I need them. But maybe the spitting exhaust is a sign of a valve issue.

The tractor runs and sounds great. I have not used it as we are on the verge of completing our restoration. We are going with a horizontal exhaust and that's great to eliminate exhaust spit but it doesn't put my mind at ease regarding the issue overall.

Bob you were the one that measured your bonnet decal for me. I'm in New Brunswick.

My pump is the 3230010 and my nozzles are BDL110S6267. So it matches. And as per my tractor year and serial number these parts match the AGCO parts book.
I have original pump and the number matches the new one that was installed before we bought it. He gave me the old pump to repair if I wanted to buy the kit.

Thanks Dieseltech for your input. I appreciate it very much.

Interesting you should comment on "I get black exhaust liquid that leaves specs on my tractor and runs down the manifold elbow"
The reason I'm going to install NOS Injectors is for the same reason. I have noticed a great (less liquid) improvement when I installed a 190 F Thermostat.

I shall have the Fuel pump serviced as per required next:

(quoted from post at 06:46:58 02/14/18) Hello
How many do you need?
I believe I can get some. my E-mail is open. Bottom right classic view.

Where are you located? I would need 3 nozzles for my 3 cylinder Perkins.

I sent you an email.

Thanks

Scott

The black "Diesel Slobber" can happen on any diesel engine during continuous no load or light load use. I doubt new tips will stop it. Diesels have MUCH cooler exhaust temps at light load use than gas engines do. The higher the compression heat, less likely the black spots show up. Work the engine awhile and it will most likely stop, but MAY start spotting again if the engine compression is on the low side. My IH 560 diesel I tractor drive with did it bad summer of 2016, rebuilt the engine that winter, raising the compression high as possible and it's not done it since. Usually takes new exhaust seats on diesel heads to get the valves back close to flush to prevent it. Valves and seats ground too much on diesels KILLS compression heat, for both starting and running.

Hi there John Deere D. What is the pump code on your CAV pump?. Is it LW58/600/2/2390 pump 3230010. Our tractors are identical as per previous discussions. I'm in New Brunswick. Mine is a 1964.

I was looking at a pic of your spec book from previous thread and noticed 20 degrees BTDC for static timing of the pump. Curious if you have yours set at 20 degrees or 22 as per my perkins manual that LW58 for the 3.152 is 22 degrees? Currently mine is set for 24 which makes me wonder if someone advanced the timing on purpose or has the pump drive gear meshed at the wrong spot on the idler gear?
