MF 85 Diesel Hydraulic Questions

Curious as to where I should look to drain/change the hydraulic fluid and filter for the 3 point and loader?

Also, where the power steering filter is, and where it is drained?

To get it all cleaned out I plan to drain and run some diesel in it, is that a good suggestion?

On an 85 I got running after several years of sitting, near the trans/range levers are what I think are two remotes, is it likely these would control the 3point or PTO? Can't seem to get 3 pt or PTO to move much at all, in all PTO ranges. On the loader itself (Dual brand)there are three levers. I assume bucket curl, raise/lower, and the 3rd I don't know. Can't seem to get the bucket to try to even do anything.

Thanks

Need a photo of the loader valve it has, if it's plumbed to the three point pump as I think it is, it will probably be slow at best. Three point lift lever must be back, and past the lift stop so it's in constant pumping mode. If you have the three spool valve in front of the seat, the far left valve should be centered as I recall, if back the valve is off and three point is then on. The center and right spools should operate the boom and bucket. Power steering is a separate pump under the transmission right side cover, there's an inlet screen on the pump that MAY need cleaned. Draining five gallons oil from the trans drain plug will get oil low enough for pump screen service. The power steering return oil is what operates the PTO clutch valve, if steering is weak, or does not work at all PTO won't work either when the pump is shot. Be sitting down when you price a new one...

Thanks for the response and detailed info. I'll try to snag some pics next time I am out there.

Is there a dipstick for the PS/ or 3pt fluid anywhere?

Thanks a bunch for the help!
So today I ran out there again to see how my fuel system stuff was working. I let the pump prime it and it still wouldn't start without using starting fluid. As soon as I gave it a shot it fired right up, no issue. Could this be a sign of being "addicted" to ether?

I also messed with the loader and 3 point controls more.

I discovered that the loader is ran from an port near the PTO clutch.

I got the 3 point to work, but slow as before. I decided to drain all the fluid. I pulled the plug under rear PTO and water came out, then tons of white fluid. I then pulled the side cover off (pto pump should be behind it), same story.

So I am optimistic that when I get it flushed out I will have those systems working again. Will update then.
