I have come across a 130 Massey with the Perkins diesel. It is S/N 385964. The battery cable shorted out and it caught fire. Where is the best place to find new parts for it?

Bonjour Tony, comment ca va?
The 130 in the UK was never very popular. The 135 to 188 were made at
Banner Lane in Coventry but the 130 was made in France and just about
everything is different to the 135. Part of their unpopularity was due
to the fact that the engine oil used to gel and frequently the result
was a con-rod out through the side of the block. Farmers over here made
the choice of the bigger and far-better equipped 135 hence that is why
so many were sold and the numbers still running remain so high.
As to parts supply as you say most are NLA other than from scrapped
ones.....if you can find one!
Personnaly I would run a mile from any thought of buying let alone
rebuilding a 130.

Very much the same situation in Australia, the 130 is a pariah without doubt . The most difficult to source parts are those associated with the hydraulic lift .

Thank you all for the info. I was looking for a new project but it appears you saved me from a real headache.

Bonjoo Daa Veed... come ah saw went vec too? Come see come saw. Moo zee faw fruut ici
There were 2 (!!) MF25's for sale at the FENA show in Republic Missouuri a couple years ago... one a lot better looking and running than the other.. one $1200, other 2500.
It's a good thing I didn't have 3700 yankee dollars burning a hole in my pocket... so I asked... those in the know.... we - as a 'study group'? went over the tractors. We found... the tubes, tires (tyres?) battery... and seat cushions and fuel interchange with other models. And now you say the engine oil was dodgy?? All oils or just French oils??? That's one for the books...
None of the American/Canadian contingent wanted to stand close to either tractor unless i paid them. So I bought Miner's granddaughter an ice-cream cone. But she had no helpful comments. Of course, she was taught you shouldn't talk while eating... then she walked away.... not a good sign...
Sam Neil and company thought I should invest my money in American beer rather than either one of those tractors... and they don't think much of American beer... at all... Sam's conclusion was- IF you were putting together a complete collection of Massey Ferguson farm tractors, one of these would be a good addition, but not to use around the farm- at all. The next breakdown will be it's last....
And Julie Brown was questioning my mental health.... well.... it was hot and humid enough to boil one's brain... but I stayed cool enough to drive away... with my money still in my pocket... but tears in my eyes...
hey- got to admit, those ARE cute tractors!

Bonsoir Tony, I've put a French dictionary
in the post!!!!!!.
OK so the seat's interchangeable with a few
other items.....I did say that most things
were not.
I believe that the engine problem was
connected to the 'breathing' setup.
Cute maybe but a mere shadow of the
incredibly reliable 135.
Cheers
