Massey 135 slow FEL

So my new to me 135 is being delivered tonight. I'd like to find a way to speed up the FEL. Can i replace the stock pump with a bigger one? Or would a front mounted pump be easier? I was dreaming of a front mounted plow with power angle I could mount to the loader arms as well... Is there a kit I can buy for the front pump? Also what is everyone using to link photos? I would have posted some pics.

Welcome, the best way would be to install a front mounted pump. You'll want at least 12gpm, but make sure you check what your loader valves are rated for. Some of the old Massey Work Bull (202) were fitted with 20gpm pumps. They were monsters.

Just keep in mind, your 135 probably has an AG axle on the front, so HEAVY loader work won't be kind to it.

I usually upload photos directly to the forum using the Advanced Posting Tools at the bottom.

Great thank you for the info. I see how to do it now. Here's a pic of the tractor. I don't think its a Massey loader?

Doesn't look like a Massey loader, but as long as you size the pump properly, you should be good to go.

If you are going to run a pump off the front of the engine I wouldn't use no less that 14 gpm at 1600 rpm. They do make a pto driven hydraulic pump, but you can't use the pump, and a pto driven implement at the same time. Most industrials will use anywhere from 17 - 24 gmp, the 3 point pump that you loader is using is only 4.5 gpm.

I've seen belt driven pumps that are 10gpm I found them on old posts I don't know if anyone will make those kits. Should be twice as good as what I'm using now.? Someone may make a kit for these things...

Oh thats great info thanks! Thats alot of parts. Is there any belt driven pump kits? I know there used to be a guy making kits. I would have thought there would be something easy to bolt on?

Never heard of a bolt on, belt drive pump off the front of the engine system for these tractors. For the old F 40, M-H-F 50, and MF 50 they did make a pto chain drive pump setup that I believe you could still use pto driven equipment without removing the pump.
