MF 165 Hydraulic Slow and Shakey

Hello, first time poster but I've been
putting in the shadows for a few months
now. I've got a MF 165 with the Perkins
diesel and power assist steering, tractor
also has a front end loader.

My hydraulics are slow and then if the PTO
is all the way up it super slow and Shakey.
What could the cause of this be? Ive had
the tractor about three months that and
have not checked the filter, I do plan to
do that this weekend if the weather holds
out. What else could cause this issue?

Also I move round bales the average about
1300# and the diverter lever keeps popping
out of it's decent, is it time for a new
diverter?

Another issue that I have is that the
controls for the loader and bucket are
backwards for some reason, is there a fix
for this?

Thanks for the help

Is your fluid level full as it should be?? Low hyd fluid will cause that as will a clogged hyd filter. As fro controls that is as simple as switch the hoses around

Please let the YT group users know where the oil supply is coming from. Front mount crank oil pump driven? Internal oil pump supply ? External PTO driven?

There could be way more to your problem than a quick fix:

Bob...John Deere Tractors and other colored tractors:

The FEL runs through a diverter mounted just in front of the seat, I'm guessing that would be through the internal pump.

Fluid levels are at the correct level according to the dipstick.

I will switch the hoses around tomorrow, I thought I tried that once but I could be wrong.

So.... I swapped the lines around and the FEL works properly but will only lift the bucket about 2ft off the ground and then it kick the diverter out of it's location and I cannot move the handle on the diverter, what's causing this?

I switched the hoses around and the controls work correctly except the will only lift the bucket about 2ft before it kicks the diverter out of it's detent. What could be the cause for this?

Also, I am thinking of adding a front mounted hydraulic pump, what all is involved in doing a setup like that to run the FEL?

Thanks

By diverter valve do you mean a control valve?? Two lever or three. If it is a two lever you can turn the setscrew just behind the lever and lock the lever in the "on" position. But the lever will have to be centered to use the 3 point hitch. The three lever only locks the left lever by a detent. (This then will allow the hitch to move). With the lever locked and the control in "constant pump" you should be able to have full use of the loader by the loader mounted control valve.
