MF35 HYDRAULIC PROBLEM

Hi Guys, New Member here. I have a Massey Ferguson 35 with a hydraulic problem. The three point hitch lifts well but drops as soon as I step on the clutch. My mechanic says he can rebuild but cant guarantee it will work any better. My brothers' 9N will keep his 5' roadblade in the up position all nite after he shuts down.

Most the time it's the valves leaking in pump. You can replace valve assembly and also
replace 3 rings on piston. You can take right side plate( dip stick) off and watch to
see where it's leaking. Raise lift up and stop engine and you can see where
it's leaking. Your mechanic should know. This should fix your problem.

Most of those tractors have a 2 stage clutch, if you push the pedal all the way to the floor, that will disengage the pump and the PTO. If the main piston has bad rings the lift will drop because the oil is leaking past the rings.
