Tachometer Drive for alternator

Have an old MF 202 which was converted to an alternator so Tach will not work. Is there any way to make it work or some type of kit available to put a drive on the alternator?

MF late 175-180 used an alternator with the tach gear drive, Some AC tractors did too, 190XT, 200, and probably others also.

I believe the parts list on this site has a tach gear for alternator.

Have no idea how the tach drive is set up on this Massey, or if it would work, but there's alternators with tach drives available for Fords

You have to be careful on these. Ford used 2 different dash assemblies, The tach turned clockwise on some and counterclockwise on others, Would have to verify rotation of the tach on MF.

since it is already altered with the alternator why not get an electronic tach?

MF has CW, and CCW cable drive tachometers.

Just googled the tach for a 202, looks like the tach on it rotates clockwise (looking at the tach), same as my 4 and 5000's that had the generator/alternator tach drive.

Later model Fords (5600) had the tach driven off the oil pump, they rotated CCW.

Not saying it will work, but it might. I make no promises
