MF230: New temp sender, now the gauge quit!

On my MF230, the temperature gauge was going to full temp more or less immediately after I would start the tractor.

I pulled the old gauge, and it tested bad, so I installed a new gauge (part no. 1877731M1) from A&I products: http://www.aibelts.com/ItemDetl.htm?ItemNumber=1877731M1

However, now my gauge just does nothing - sits completely zeroed out.

How would you folks debug this?

Ground the wire out that connects to sending unit to see if needle
moves.

Did you replace the gauge or the sending unit?

Oops, yes - I replaced the sending unit only.
