202 work bull questions

So I have this old 202 and have had it for a while but never got around to working on it. Ran when I parked it a few years back but had an overfull oil pan. Not sure if it is hyd oil or just the owner over filled it. One problem it also has is the loader will not stay in any position and if you let go of the control it falls to the ground.
So is the hyd pump engine driven in such a way it could over fill the engine with oil??
#2 loader falling like it does a cylinder or control problem?? Then how does one check such?? My thinking is install a ball valve or some such thing in the line and shut it off before the loader falls to see if it stops or keep going
Thanks

Also it does not have a PTO is that something that could be installed pretty easy??

Hydraulic oil can't get into the oil pan, unless the power steering pump is leaking into the engine (if it has ps).

On the loader are lift cylinders single acting, or dual acting.

On the pto does the tractor have 3 point, if it does you need to find out if it has a dual, or split torque clutch.

If it has a 3 point with a dual clutch adding pto to it would be just a matter of getting the pto parts.

Cylinders if I remember right are double acting.
No 3 point on it. At one time I was told it had a back hoe on it but that was from the guy we got it from so who knows for sure.
If I remember right it has power steering also.
It is a tractor we got in and due to the engine being way over full of oil and other projects I just never got around to it till now and now only because I have a guy who wants it for the loader work it can do. I have 2 tractor he could buy with loaders but a Case VAI is not as much tractor as this 202 is so I recommend the 202 over the VAI

On the loader I'd say its a control valve problem, but I would look at the lift cylinder packing first if it has dual acting cylinders. If it is the control valve parts are probably next to impossible to find so it would be better switch out the control valve with a new one (you would have to adapt it to work). If the engine is ok you could find a 35 with 3 point, pto, dual clutch that has a bad Continental in it, and use the transmission/rear end from the 35. If the engine is bad it would be easier to find a complete, running 35 with pto, 3 point, and put the front axle/support along with the loader on the 35. The 202 for the most part is a 35 with some different parts.

Not that is matters but it does have a plate over where the PTO shaft should be so there is a chance it has what is needed to just put in a PTO but have not look to make sure it is that easy. As for the control valve I have a good one I picked up at a yard sale a few years back so may try that also

Did you drain the oil to see what was in it?
Oil , water or fuel. Oil would be from overfilling. Water from a crack or a leaking cylinder sleeve.

This is a typical MF pto setup.

You can take everything you need for the PTO from a TO35, including the 3pt lift and pump if desired.
