MF 135 serial number

I'm trying to find more info about my father-in-laws tractor. The plate on the dash, just under the throttle says 135 177924, under those numbers there's an M.
Does that mean anything to anyone? I thought it was a serial number, but the Agco dealer said he couldn't get any info from that number.
The one thing I know for sure is that it is a diesel.

I have two 135 diesels, the US model has the SN tag hidden behind the air cleaner. My UK 8 speed model has the tag on the dash next to the throttle like yours does. The US starts with 9A, UK does not. I'll see if I can find my book with the UK numbers, maybe someone else will have the info too.
