MF 50 Ignition Switch Replace

1961 (pretty sure but don't have serial right now) MF 50, gas, shutting ignition off.

Last year, could not start up when key pointed to Ignition, then found it started and ran in Ignition/Lights (2nd position) until this year. Now it starts then shuts off after about 5-10 min for no reason.

Temporary wired a cheap aftermarket starter and it appears to runs fine, but switch won't fit instrument panel.

Looking for replacement (fit 5/8 hole with slot) and to confirm my original #, it's 4 prong with screws. I think it's 189527M93.

But I only need Ignition, no lights.
 
The problem with some parts today even if have the right part number is you will probably get a aftermarket generic switch that fits many different machines. It usually doesn't fit right in some way, or another.
 
I may get scolded for this but I would hook up a couple toggle switches, one on-off for ignition and one momentary on for the starter solenoid.
 
If you're not too concerned about it being authentic a Marine ignition switch from a Marine Chandler will work well . I have one fitted to my Ferguson TED20. Water and corrosion resistant, really good and tough construction with key retention as well .
When I saw the absolute rubbish quality of the so called replacements available I chose this one and have never regretted it .

According to AGCO parts, and my serial, 530098, my ignition switch should be 189527M91.

I agree, I was dreaming all aftermarket will be an exact fit, I suspect I may have to drill new or expand existing panel hole.

I did buy a toggle switch, didn't think I needed two but maybe better separate ignition and starter loops for reliability, but was also concerned about rain and fouling.

I may look at a marine switch, and I found an ebay for $12, three prong, larger 3/4 hole though.
