does the massey ferguson 65 have a safety switch that prevents it from starting in gear and if so where would it wire in

Yes, on top of the transmission just in front of the steering box. The two wire switch is closed when the Hi-Lo lever is in the center, start position.

ok thanks the switch is there buy no wires going to it. where would the wires connect on the other end

You run the wire going from the start position of the ignition switch to the neutral safety switch, then run a wire from the neutral safety switch to S terminal on the starter solenoid.
