MF 135 problem

Have a problem keeping my MF running once it gets started. Backstory to maybe help with diagnosis. Was driving it Friday and shredding when after about an hour it quit running and wouldn?t start. Just would fire up when you turned it on. Plenty of gas just not getting fuel. Next morning wouldn?t start so rowed it to barn. It started right up there. Let it idle about 15 minutes and no problems. Drove it around ranch no issues for about 15 more minutes. So hooked up plow and drove it down to field no issues. Dropped plow and started to plow and it died right away. Couldn?t get it started for about 20 minutes and then did finally. Plowed about an hour no issues. Stopped for lunch and went back. Plowed about 15 minutes and it died. Wouldn?t start for about an hour then when it did as soon as i dropped the plow it died again and wouldn?t restart for the next hour so just towed it again back to barn and had to leave for the day. Any ideas why it?s doing this ? Seems like to not getting fuel but doest do that when we just drive it around not plowing or not shredding. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks

Hi, you could also make sure that the fuel filler cap is breathing as the fuel level drops to prevent a vacuum being created in the tank. Try it with the cap loose or place some rag over it for a while.

That is one where some simple trouble shooting is in order.
#1 the moment it dies make sure you have a good blue/white spark at the center wire of the distributor cap and at all the plug wires that jump a 1/4 inch gap.
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a steady flow of gas.
If no spark run a jumper wire form the battery to the ignition side of coil and see if it will run. If it runs the problem is a bad ignition switch or poor connection some place in the ignition system,
If poor fuel flow junk in the tank or a bad tank vent or sticking float

Your problem is quite simple: You have a lazy tractor that doesn't want to work. Lazy is incurable. But seriously, since it runs fine just driving around but won't run when under a strain, I'd look at the carb. Sounds like it's not allowing enough fuel when you need it or the mixture is too lean. Better yet, sell it and get you one with a Perkins diesel up front. Problem solved.
