Mf135 power steering

I have a 1974 mf135 that has the reliability that lives up to the model's storied history. Sadly, due to my own ignorance of some of it's quirks I have a serious PS issue. It is American built, and those owners of the fm workhouse who stable the machine know the PS unit sits below the steering column under the battery. The issue I need help with is.........the gear ram has blown out the end of the gearhousing so that the cap and block shim cannot be properly tighten in place to guide the gear travel as it should. This situation will only make sense to those who have opened the top of the housing and seen how the PS works. Finding a new housing box is difficult and removing it to send out to a welding shop requires a major tear down. I'm reaching out to those who might have a suggestion for on site repair or someone who has had to deal with the same issue and can tell me how they dealt with it. Hopefully yours. Munzy

After the box is repaired or replaced, MAKE SURE the pump relief valve opening pressure is checked. If it's too high that can wreck the box too. Had a 35 years ago that the owner said it steered too hard with the loader, so he jacked up the valve. Shortly after the top of the box blew apart..

Thanks for sharing your experience. Are replacement parts such as the box (housing) available in the US. Suppliers in Canada seem at a loss for locating it other than taking it off another machine
