Hello,

Is this in the correct firing order? I am a novice tractor mechanic and I changed the points and condenser so it would start but I"m not exactly sure if I have it in the right order once I attached the spark plug wires.

It seems to lose power going uphill?

2tractors is correct on firing order. When you say lose power going uphill, does it sound/feel like governor is not accelerating engine under load? Does it feel like it is starving for gas? When you go uphill, try pulling out choke partway to see if the influx of fuel helps. If so it's a fuel starvation issue. If not it's a timing or governor issue. Let us know. The governor is in front of crankshaft so we do not want that to be the issue. Since you are admittedly a novice, please allow me to suggest buying a manual for the tractor and that will help you better understand the issues I have touched on as well as how to set your timing. That is a great tractor (and engine) and once you solve this riddle you will be well pleased.
