Can someone please tell me if it is possible to add a PTO to my Massey Ferguson 30B Industrial tractor? I would like to run a Flail mower that is PTO driven on my Massey 30B but my Massey has no PTO.

Thank You
Todd :D

Hopefully you got the 6x6 manual shuttle, my MF 2135 industrial has that transmission. I tried 3H in reverse once, talk about a white knuckle ride with that old school steering box!

Is the 6x6 manual shuttle like my MF35 Utility?

Three forward gears, one reverse gear, High/Low, and the shuttle lever for direction (f/r) change. I can choose any gear in either range and use that speed in both forward in reverse. Just asking because I never heard it referred to as 6x6 manual shuttle.

Yes that is how mine is three forward and one reverse with a hi and a low, I didn't know they call it a 6X6

MF just calls it manual shuttle, I call it a 6x6. Other makes call their shuttle transmissions 6x6, 6x4, 4x4, etc.

Blu911, your transmission can have pto added to it since its manual shuttle. I assume you have a 3 point hookup so chances are your tractor may have a "split torque" clutch, pretty much a single clutch that drives the hydraulic pump for the 3 all the time. For a split torque clutch you would need a independent pto that works off a separate hydraulic pump that mounts on top of the pump for the 3 point. The independent pto (or whats called ipto) can be engaged, or disengaged with depressing the clutch pedal. Unless you can find a cheap donor tractor with ipto the ipto would be expensive. The alternative is live pto, live pto uses a two stage clutch. You only have push the clutch pedal down half way you can change gears (first stage), to engage the live pto you push the pedal all the way down to engage it.

To see what clutch you have put the 3 point position control all the way down then push the clutch all the way down, and then see if the 3 point will raise up when you move the position control up. If you have a two stage clutch the 3 point will not raise with the clutch pedal fully depressed (hopefully you have a two stage clutch, its cheaper to add pto to your tractor with a two stage clutch).
