Preventing dry rot on tires ??

I keep my tractor under a carport with only dirt for a floor.
I thought about just laying down a piece of plywood down to keep the tractor off the ground but that might just serve to soak up any moisture and make things worse.

I am not wanting to pour a slab nor am I going to remove the
Tires/wheels as i may want to use the Tractor at any time.
The same reason applies to Jacking the Tractor off the Ground.

I do have some pieces of tin that came off an old shed that I could lay down and drive the tractor over it .Would that would provide significant help Via a moisture Barrier or do the tires need to Have a more significant barrier between them and the ground ??

Thanks

The two main things that cause tires to dry rot is ultraviolet light, and ozone. I use plywood for a floor in my shop (dirt underneath) they last along time unless you get enough rain that it floods over them. Some kind of tire covers that keeps any light off of them, and keep the tires away from anything electrical (electrical devices produce ozone so they say).

i use recycled paint from our landfill recycle shop, poured on the cheapest ply I can find, that seals it up just great, and any old sheet or rug draped over the tyres protects from UV.
The UV is our worst enemy in the north of Australia.

For 90% of the tire, get a couple of old tire tubes of the next size up or even two sizes up, cut one slice across and then cut from end to
end along the inside (smaller) circumference line. Slip over the tire and pull it down nice and tight. Sort of like a tire condom .......
well, sort of !!! Keeps pretty much all the sun and weather off of 90 % of the tire.

SOOOO if I don't place the "Condoms" as you called them on my tires, does that mean Just my tires will multiply or Maybe I will go out one day and have another baby tractor ?LOL :)

(quoted from post at 15:36:25 09/18/17) shade of any kind.

Yes the tractor has continious shade the way it sits under the Carport and it butts up to a tool shed on the west side and a tall stand of trees on the east side.

Mainly Concerned with Moisture migrating from the dirt floor to the tires.
