MF 35 Gas Distributor

I replaced my original distributor on My Z-135 MF 35 at the time of rebuild a dozen or so years back. Recently when looking at tune up parts I noticed the rotor in the tune up kits looks different from what is in my tractor. Furthermore the distributor looks exactly like the one that is in my Ford 841. the tractor has run on this distributor for over a dozen years but now I am questioning if it is the right one for this engine. if not, then the Continental 134 is so similar to the Ford engines that it will work in either. has anyone run into this?
thanks
Bob

You have to watch the replacement parts these days. On my 1965 MF2135 industrial (Z134 gasser) I bought a tune up kit from tractor supply, and the rotor fit loose on the distributor shaft. I cleaned up the old rotor, and reused it.

There were also two different distributors available for the MF35/z134 depending on what year yours is. Early models had clip on distributor caps, later models had screw on style.
