MF65 wiring

Here is my plan.... I am rewiring my 65 diesel with the bare minimum of wires. Installed a 35 amp one wire alternator...run a #8 wire from alt to one side of a 50 amp toggle switch along with a wire to volt meter. Run another #8 wire from other side of switch to + battery term. Of course everything will be grounded as it needs to be. Have a push button switch hooked up for starter solenoid. Not planning on wiring any lights. Oil press and Water temp are mechanical. I don't see why it wont work, What do you folks think? Am I missing anything?

Id make sure i got the neutral safety hooked up as well. Those Perkins diesel starts too easy in gear and will run over stuff. I put mine through the garage door.
