MF 135 coil

I purchased pn 189673M1 coil for my 135. It measures 1.6 ohms but is supposedly a 12 volt coil. I was told by the seller that
it has an internal resistor and that the 1.6 is correct. That under a load that it will be correct. Anyone ever use this PN
on a MF 135 with NO external coil?

One thing is for sure... when they told you it had an "internal resistor", they lied.

The label on the coil should say if it needs a resister added or not and what voltage it is for.
No such thing as an internal resister but what they do is add additional windings to eliminate the need for an external one. Pay attention to the fine print in the instruction sheet too. Some will say that no resister is needed if using electronic ignition and one is needed if using points.

You need almost twice that.. Find a 3 - 3.5 ohm coil.
