Power steering

The MF 50 I just purchased does not have power steering. Anyone know where I could buy a complete set-up ??
Will the power steering on a 165 work on the 50 ?

The 165 is probably a tad different in a couple areas so it may, or may not be an exact bolt on (you may, or may not have to make some slight modifications). If you have the time for the 50 to sit I don't see why it couldn't be done. The 165 power steering system is a little better system than what the 50, and 65 had. I myself would to try it to see, I don't think it would be very (if at all) difficult.

Hi,
If the 65 and 50 have the pedestal type PAS I doubt that it will be
quite a straight fit if you are going to use the system where the drag
link takes up the low position. The ram and shaft from the from the
165 type should fit be will be lacking the machined seating for the
upper bush on the main shaft. With the pedestal type the shaft was
supported at the top. No pedestal type is shown for the UK 165.

On the 50, and 65 they both used the drag link used the upper position, and they both used the same steering gear box except for M-H, and MF 50's with serial number 531146 thru 531813. The drag link is shorter on the 50, the pedestal, and front axle support are the same on the 50, and 65. All this is according to the parts book for the US models.

The high pressure hose is part number 183052M91 (1/4" ID x 9/16" OD x 47").
The return hose is part number 183053M91 (3/8" ID x 3/4" OD 43-1/2").

If you have the Barnes power steering pump you also need two elbow fittings. If you have, or got the Barnes pump it may have the fittings on them if someone didn't take them off. You do not need the elbow fittings if you have the Cessna power steering pump.
