Have you ever used the sealing washers that have a rubber o-ring inside a steel ring or washer? I have been looking at them and was thinking I might try them. Sometimes on old parts the copper washers are difficult to get a good seal.

Never used them. IH used to use some nylon washers with steel washers around them to limit how mush the inner nylon washer was crushed on the plain steel banjo injection lines. Some IH lines have a step on each side the nylon washer snaps into. On injection line banjoes I prefer Delphi mild steel washers as they crush a bit like copper and seal well. Some Bosch banjo lines now use aluminum washers in place of copper.

My 364 International uses them on the power steering cylinder banjo fittings and they seem to work good. I have removed them and reused them without any leakage. That is the only experience I have had with them. I think I may get some and try them on the fuel filter banjos. Thanks for the reply.

There are some Denso fuel washers that are rubber coated steel that work well, can be re-used long as the rubber is not torn. May not hold on high pressure though.

I've had a deal of success by heating the correct sized copper washers with the oxy/acetylene. This does tend to "soften" the copper, so it will conform to the shape of a slightly distorted banjo fitting.
My 2 cents worth, Evan.

Annealing is the technical term to soften metals like copper.
