Massey Ferguson 65 3 point hitch

I recently purchased a Massey Ferguson 65 and at the time the tractor wouldn't run and the arms on the three point hitch were dragging the ground due to extremely small tires on rear of tractor so to be able to pull the tractor home I grabbed the arms and raised them up and to my surprise they stayed up where they remain to this day. It didn't take long to get the engine running but I haven't got the arms to move since I raised them manually. Any ideas or help with my problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Has your 65 have remote hyd on it? If so play with the remote controls while the lift control is up.

yes it has the remote controls but the left one seems to be stuck. maybe when I get it to free up something will work thanks for the reply

got lever freed up and still not working. I took hoses off remote and pulled lever oil sprayed out so pump is working. Maybe something has sheered keyway. has anyone ever heard of that

I don't like the spool valves under the seat, I feel off a tractor because my foot hooked one of the levers. How I didn't break any bones, sprain my ankle or something I don't know, but it was no fun!

Thanks for the advice on the fender mount valves. Both of the valves seem to be working fine now but the three point hitch still won't move. would I be able to see anything if I removed the round plates on the side of trans, one has dip stick and the other side is the pto lever. maybe a spring or something has came off in

Yes you can use a mirror and flashlight to look up into the case. You should see the rock shaft, arm, link, linkage and cylinder that way.
When you say you lifted the arms up did you lift them all the way like they wont go any further or just part way or.. ? Can you push them down by hand, or stand on them, at all? Control levers down of course.

Remove the round cover on the right hand side, remove the bottom bolt first, and have a good size drain pan ready because trans/hydraulic oil will come out of the bolt holes. You could drain the, from the bottom from the two drain plugs (should hold 7 gallons, or so). After you remove the right hand cover, one of the bolts should use a flathead screwdriver to remove, and the linkage is right there. With the engine off move the 3 point control levers, and see what the linkage behind the side cover does.

I LIFTED THEM ALL THE WAY. I TOOK OFF BOTH SIDE PLATES TODAY AND IT LOOK LIKE A BALL HAD COME OUT OF IT'S SLEEVE SO I GOT IT BACK IN PLACE AND THE ARM WENT DOWN SO I REPLACED SIDE PLATES AND FILLED UP WITH OIL THEN THEY WOULDN'T RAISE SO I LIFTED THEM BY HAND AGAIN ALL THE WAY UP BAD MISTAKE THEY ARE STUCK UP AGAIN.

Sounds like you have some worn out, or missing parts on the lift cover. Maybe a stuck control valve.

Hey thanks, I believe this will be a lot of help. now I will have an idea of what I should be seeing and what to try. Thanks again and I'll let you know how it turns out

By what I could tell everything looks about like the drawing you sent but I couldn't get anything to move by hand. I did notice when I had the side covers off that when I pulled on the left remote handle that oil poured down from high up. I couldn't see where it was coming from. Is this normal?

Thanks pt farmer I got the top off and I did find some issues. I think it will be an easy fix. I'll let you know but thanks again
