Hi

I checked the hydraulic fluid on my tractor it and appears to be way to high on the dipstick.

Can someone tell me if there is an overflow bolt on the tractor that I can take out to get the Fluid at the correct level ?

Thanks

What color does the oil look like? If its yellow drain it all, chances are its got water in it (that is usually main cause of being over full).

The color of the oil is yellow but a clear yellow.
Is that ok?
I just figured that a prior owner did not wait long enough to give oil time to give a correct reading or he thought a little more would not hurt anything.

I opened a jug of the traveler mineral oil I have and put a little on the back of my hand along with some of the oil from the Massey and they both looked exactly the same.
The oil from the Massey 35 did have a smell to it that the new oil did not have .
I am really thinking a prior owner just put too much in.
So I guess I am going to drain some of it out.

Where is the overflow bolt hole at?

Thank you much

Remove the lower bolt of the dipstick side cover plate , this is at almost exactly the same level as the full mark on the dipstick itself , any excess will pour out until the correct level is reached .

I would first carefully and gingerly undo the transmission sump plug first though . Try to get a dribble out of it without the whole eight gallons of the stuff pouring out . Water will settle under the oil and come out first if there is any in there .
